After 30 years in the business world (advertising, information systems and market research), it was time for a change...and to respond to the call to work with elders and people in hospice care. Janet chose to trade in unrelenting stressful deadlines for the opportunity to weave compassion into hands-on work: hospice massage therapy.
Involvement with chronically/terminally ill loved ones in recent years reignited Janet’s long-term interest in working with people in their final stages of life. She considers touch/massage to be of tremendous value to these individuals, and feels honored to provide such a service.
“The deep interpersonal connection brought forth through nurturing, focused touch and gentle massage is apparent to me every day in my work for Heartland Hospice. We have such an opportunity to deeply impact our hospice patients, their families, and our own hearts. What an honor and blessing it is to impact our world so positively, one person, one family, at a time.”
In addition to earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, Janet is an August 2009 graduate of the massage therapy program at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, Illinois.
She became Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork in September 2009, and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Illinois (License #227.011055) in October 2009.
Janet is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
